Basic information
Tian-shun Hou (1981.12-), male, the Han nationality, born in Yunxi County, Hubei Province, China, the member of Chinese Communist Party, PhD, associate professor, master’s supervisor. He got his bachelor’s degree in exploration technology and engineering from Hunan University of Science and Technology in June 2005, his master’s degree in geotechnical engineering from China University of Geosciences in June 2008, and his doctor’s degree in geotechnical engineering from China University of Geosciences in June 2011. He has been a research scholar in many countries, such as Lehigh University in America, and so on. He works at College of Water Resources and Architectural Engineering, Northwest A&F University at present. As well, he is the member of International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG), the member of International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), the member of Chinese Institution of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering-China Civil Engineering Society, the director of Shaanxi Society for Rock-Soil Mechanics and Engineering, the reviewer of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the reviewer of 《Chinese Journal of Geotechnical Engineering》, etc. He is mainly engaged in the teaching and research of rock and soil mechanics and constitutive models, geosynthetics, ground improvement and foundation engineering, slope stability and geohazards prevention. He has presided over nine projects, such as National Natural Science Foundation of China and Shaanxi Natural Science Foundation, etc. He has published more than twenty academic papers in many key journals, such as 《Chinese Journal of Geotechnical Engineering》,《Rock and Soil Mechanics》 ,《Engineering Geology》, etc. Thereinto, fifteen academic papers have been indexed by Science Citation Index (SCI) and The Engineering Index (EI) (first author, fourteen indexed papers). He has owned ten state authorized invention patents (first author, seven invention patents). He has guided seven graduates.
In addition, Tian-shun Hou is mainly engaged in the teaching of 《Soil Mechanics》and 《Foundation Engineering》. He has presided over one project, such as Teaching Reformation Foundation of Northwest A&F University, and so on. He has published six teaching papers (first author, six teaching papers) in many higher education journals, such as 《Heilongjiang Education》, etc. He has published one teaching writings, such as《Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering》, etc.
